Some users report that it won't install if 2.0 is. Give it a shot, though.
It won't hurt to remove and reinstall 2.0 later.

.NET is a progression, and it was decided to keep them separate. Programs
that need .NET 1.0 or 1.1 will call those libraries. Later programs that
use .NET 2.0 will use those libraries. You should be able to install
.NET
2.0 with 1.1 installed. I've done it on multiple machines with zero
issues.

Unisntall .NET 2.0 from Add/Remove Programs. Then reinstall .NET 1.1

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=262D25E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3&displaylang=en

After reinstalling, visit Windows Update for any updates related to .NET
1.1. .NET 2.0 is not required for Media Center 2005.

Since updating to Net Framework 2.0 I can't start
up media center. I get an error in ehshell.exe that it
can't run without Net Framework 1.1.4322. What do
I need to do and where do I get version 1.1.4322?

Thanks

Richard

Thanks for the help. Can you tell me why the net framework
don't build on each other. In other words why 1.1 stuff doesn't
work in 2.0? What do I do if I need 2.0 for some other software?
Thanks again,
Richard

Once more thanks for your time. Can I reinstall 1.1 without uninstalling
2.0?
Richard

Doug thanks for the help. Everything is working now. I had
to uninstall 2.0 before 1.1 would install.

Richard
