If the problem does not happen with recorded TV then I would suspect that
your tuner cartd may be sharing its IRQ with your graphics card.
Have you checked to see if you have the latest BIOS for your MOBO?
You could try disabling one of the CPUs in your BIOS, however, I no longer
think this is part of your problem.

Thanks for the explaination, here's what I know...
The 4800+ Dual Core drivers in Device Manager under processors are dated
at
6/21/06 by MS. The problem still exist only when watching Live TV and
crashes within a few minutes to a few hours. The system was perfectly
fine
when I had my single core since Beta 2 was first introduced (months ago).
Every detailed report that I've sent to MS has responded with a generic
solution saying that the "problem" has been fixed in RC1 and to check back
later. I'm assuming they are referring to the Dual Core and Live TV issue
and not all of havic that this has caused on my hard drive :)
Hopefully, as you mentioned, RC1 will be released soon. So I'll hold onto
my
dual core until then and see.

The issus is not one of supporting dual cores the problem with the XP X2
driver with MCE was that since MCE double buffers the input it gets from
the
tuner the old XP X2 driver sometimes got the buffers out of order when
recording them to disk.
You should be able to check for the date of your CPU dirver in device
manager and if it is later then May 2005 ( the date of the XP X2 driver
vix)
then it should not be a problem.
Last I heard RC1 was scheduled for release August 15th we will just have
to
see if it happens next week.
