Re: Microsoft Media Center player

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Wanda,

Dana is pointing out that videos come in many different formats and flavors,
without knowing a little more about the specific videos you are trying to
play, it's a little hard to help.

What Dana was also pointing out it that you really need to post this
question in a more appropriate newsgroup, this one is for Windows Media
Center, which is a Microsoft Operating System. It is not the same thing as
Media Player. You would certainly get more help in a different forum or you
might try asking Yahoo, since it is their videos that don't play.

Thank you Dana, but I have no clue what you are talking about. All I know
is
it says to play video on the yahoo news and when I click, nothing happens.

Any idea what format these failed videos are in? Do you have a codec
installed for that format? And are you trying to play them in Media
Center,
or Media Player? There is a Media Player newsgroup too...

I have notice I can't get some videos to play, such as yahoo news
videos.
I
have run a system check from University of Wisconsin and all my
programs
pass
except the Media Player and it says "fails". It tells me to go to
Microsoft
and upload the program. When I do it says I am runing a newer version
of
Media Player 10. This came with my laptop computer I bought from Dell.
I
know something is wrong, but have no clue what to do. There is a beta
media
player I can download, but I am afraid to do so. I would prefer to
have
my
system work like it is supposed to do. Please help if you can
