That's odd. Given that none of the below are the issue, I suspect that one
of the files used when validating Media Center's signature has been
corrupted; rolling back to a system restore point from before things stopped
working might work, with the definite fix being a full refresh of your
Windows install (which is admittedly not so fun).

Also, a couple other questions:
- Are your hard drives formatted as NTFS or FAT32? (I doubt this is your
issue as you didn't mention reformatting recently)

My wife want me to send it back... unfortunately it's out of warranty...
had
it for a year or longer. It's a Linksys Media Extender. Been working
(somewhat) correctly since we bought it.
