The instructions are slightly confusing. Disc 1 *is* Windows XP SP2, the
installation procedure is disc 1, disc 2 (MCE stuff), and back to disc 1.

I am trying to do a clean install on a new sata II hard drive. During the
insallation I am being asked for the disk labeled "Windows XP
professionlal
service pack 2" disk. This is a clean install with the Microsoft Windows
XP
Media Center Edition 2005 (Full Version) Single-Pack OEM. I made a CD
with
Service PAck 2 on it. I am able to find three of the files it is looking
for
but then it also askes me for disk 1 of Windows XP Prefessional. I should
not
need thses disks since it is s fresh install. When the installation is
complete system information says I am running MCE 2002 and the disks are
MCE
2005.
The first time I installed MCE on this system,(last year) it did not ask
me
for service pak 2. I installed it later through windows update.
How do I do a clean install without haveing to use the service pack 2
disk?
I had the same problem when I tried to do a windows repair on the old hard
drive.
