Re: configure remote control

thanks but when got to this set up point :When prompted, press and hold 0 on
the set-top box remote (not the Media Center remote control). ...means I have
to use my satelite remote control...?

Yes. The MCE IR Receiver can receive the IR codes from your set top box. That way it knows what to send to the set top box to change the channels.

"Reconfigure all set-top box settings"....???
because I have one turner card this can apply to me ?.

Yes, at this point, you should reconfigure all the set top box settings to ensure that they're correct.

Dual set top boxes are required if you're using dual tuners. Since you're not, it isn't an issue.

But, the question that you haven't answered, for certain..........

In addition to the IR Receiver and the Remote Control, there should have been one or more cables with a 1/8" phono plug on one end and small piece of plastic on the other. The phono plug needs to be plugged into the back of the IR Receiver, and the plastic bit on the other end needs to be attached to the front of the set top box, right over the set top box's IR Receiver. You may need to use a flashlight to look through the front cover to see where it actually is. Has this been done? If not, then the MCE PC cannot control your set top box.

Did you connect the IR emitter between the IR receiver and the set top box? And do so properly? If not, then MCE has no way to control it.

See this article by MVP Barb Bowman. Its written for dual tuners/set top boxes, but applies equally well to single tuner/box combinations.
