Sorry, that's "My brother's in Tucson"... :)

Hey, my brothers in Tucson! :)

Anyway, just wanted to follow up. Glad it's working for you, and no
problem. Also, check into a program called Ultramon. Very handy when
running multiple monitors, and I think they've got a trial version.

Hi Clint:
Thanks again for the input. I tried dragging windows to the other
monitor again and figured out what I did wrong. In the process of
dragging
the window to the other screen, after dragging it partially to the other
screen, I would release the mouse key and move cursor to the other the
other
screen and then click on the window to pull it the remaining distance.
That
wasn't working LOL. It turns out, if I just keep the cursor on the
window
and move the window completely to the other screen it works fine. Sorry
to
bother you with such a dumb question, but your reply helped by assuring
me
it would work.

If I understand your question correctly, yess, I have dragged MC from
one
screen to the other. It goes "funny" as it does the transition, but I
don't
think it has anything to do with analog vs. digital. I think it's just
the
video card switching from one screen to the other.

MC doesn't know or care (AFAIK) what kind of display you're putting it
on.
That's handled behinid the scenes by the video card, which also doesn't
really give a flying fig what type of display you've got on either
input.
You could have a CRT hooked to a DVI adapter (like I do), or an LCD
panel
hooked to a VGA output, and the card shouldn't care.

Anyway, that's my $0.02. I haven't had an issue moving any program from
one
screen to another, either way. I have noticed some stuff looks better
on
one display or another, but that's just the way the two displays seem.
The
text is sharper on the LCD's, and images look better (in general) on the
CRT's (IMHO). I use dual displays (CRT and LCD) at both the office and
at
home, and have for a few years now. Hope it works for you! I can't
imagine
not running this way anymore.

Hi Clint:
Thanks for the info! That's kinda what I want to do......but have
you
tried it with the Live TV in media center starting in your LCD (DVI
connection), then dragging it to the CRT with a VGA connection?
That's
what
worries me.........will the live tv change from a digital signal to
analog
signal when dragged to a new screen? I tried it once and the computer
froze
up and wouldn't respond to anything and had to unplug it. Then I
tried it
again using the hauppauge tv program outside of MC and that worked,
though
the picture wasn't as good on the crt.

The window I'm typing this message in is on my Viewsonic LCD, and MC
is
running on my 19" Dell CRT. So I'd say yes, it's possible. MC
doesn't
care
if it's running on a CRT or LCD, and probably doesn't even know.

Hi all:
I got a new Gateway 21" LCD monitor and have set it up as my
primary
display. I am wondering if it is possible to use my old 19" crt
monitor
along side it as a secondary display and at times open live tv on
the
LCD
and
then drag it over to the CRT to view tv while I work on the other
monitor.
I
have an ATI X800XL graphics card with 256 MB onboard memory and it
has
both
digital and analog outputs. Will it automatically change the live
tv
showing
on the CRT to analog if I drag the window from the LCD? Sorry to
ask
such
a
dumb question, but it sounds like an unusual thing to do!
