Where the cable goes into your PC from your set top box is the tuner board.
There should also be a pair of RCA connectors for audio and an sVideo
connector (round, multi pin, about the size of a keyboard/mouse connector).
Your set top box ought to have output connectors for sVideo and the two
audios. I think Media Center is expecting to find your video signal on the
sVideo connector rather than the cable...

And I think you also have to program your set top box to output its signal
on either the cable or the sVideo connectors...

I actually have the coax cable running directly from the pc to the cable
box.

You guys keep talking about tuners. I may have a single tuner computer

I have tried every split every configuration and I can get 2-78
perfectly.

just can not get the 3 digit channels.

I did get an extra setup box for my computer. I dont need this as I

the channels without it.

I am determined to try to make this work. I love what the media center

do.

I have the remote that came with it and it has two IRC (is that right)
connections but I may just have a single tuner computer. Does that

anything to do with my problems.

From your Cable Wall outlet you go to the input of a 3-way
splitter.

1 output goes to your Cable Modem and from the Cable modem to the
ethernet connector on your PC.

1 output goes direct to your TV since it has its own tuner

1 output goes to your STB so you can user the tuner in it to feed
the
TV Tuner/video capture card on your PC using either Coax and
S-video+audio.

Your TV will operate totally independtly of your STB and PC.

Will this setup satisfy your requirements?

I am not sure if the splitter connection to your CableModem can
be
anyone of the 3 outputs since I believe I have read about special
splitters when cable modems are used.
