Re: Unable to install MCE2005

The install DVD says that the upgrade is possible and there are non
problem into compatibilty check.

The installation was without errors and asked me both MCE disks...

But the upgrade was from XPHome to XPPro only...

The code was correctly requested/downloaded from MSDN site.

You can't upgrade to Media Center... it needs to be a clean install.
There is no upgrade path from XP Home, or XP Pro, to Media Center

In addition, make sure you are entering a Media Center key, otherwise, you
won't get Media Center

Ok. I've upgraded my built-in XP Home with MCE2005 disks and MSDN
activation code.

Problem: now I've an XP Professional boot, not MCE! And there are no
apparently extra applications!

Why?

MCE2005 has XP SP2 included in it already.

In fact, MCE2005's disc 1 is Windows XP Pro if you feed it XP Pro cd
keys.
So there should be no functional difference between XP Pro with SP2
and
MCE2005's disc 1.

Oh my God... And so, why "No hard-disk present" message (or BSOD STOP
0x0000007B INACCESSABLE_BOOT_DEVICE)???

:-(
