No events where registered while dropping frames. Anyway WinDVD 7 caused the
problem. When I uninstalled it and installed PowerDVD 6 the problem was
solved, no more dropped frames.

You might lookat the event logs and see if any problems are being noted
when the problem occurs.

I have recently assembled a MCE2005 HTPC with the following
configuration:
SHUTTLE XPC 83G5M
P4 3.2 GHz (640)
1 GB Ram
Hauppauge 150MCE Tv card
NEC 3551 DVD-Recorder
WDC 3200 JS Sata HDD
Saphire Radeon X300SE VGA Card with 128MB on board
Intervideo WinDVD 7 video decoder
WinXP MCE 2005 Update Rollup 2
TV is Connected through S-Video
The system works fine, but when playing DVD it sometimes drops frames
and in very rare cases I can hear audio "clicking" or even audio
jumping. The symptom is easy to see when there is continious camera
movement to one direction e.g when the camera follows a walking person
on the street or when i goes from the top of a building to the bottom.
It is also present when playing the DVD through Media Player.
I haven't noticed anything similar with Live or Recorded TV and the
problematic DVDs playback normarly through WinDVD 7 on this PC and on my
other PC (with Power DVD) and on my SONY Desktop DVD player.
To troubleshoot the issue I tried to:
* Copy the DVD to the HDD and play back from there
* Turned off Hyperthreading from the BIOS
* Played with each and every Media player setting for Acceleration,
Video Overlay, VMR etc
but havent noticed any improvement. Can someone help?
