I did npt realize that the 2 chipsets were that different.
What is the difference in specifcations between the 845 and the 945 that
makes the 845 not capable wheras the 945 is?

The 945 drivers are NOT compatible with the 845 graphics chipset.

It took me a while to get my TV working in VISTA MCE also.
It now works and I am using the latest MCE drivers from the Hauppauge
Website for my 150 PVR card
The NVIDIA DVD Decoder release .196.
Intel chipset drivers release 4543 dated 3/23/2006 from the Intel Website
for my 82945G Intel chipset.
I don't recall if these drivers also support you chipset but they may.
I also had to allocate in the BIOS upto 128MB of main memory for the
Intel chipset since Vista MCE did not properly recognize 64MB when that
was the limit that I selected as the maximum amount.
I never installed WinTV 2000 or the Regular Windows on my Vista system.

Just a couple of other thoughts, in case it's not an issue with the
Haup
drivers.
Have you run the decoder checker to verify you have a MCE compatible
decoder
and it is set as the preferred?
If not, try this:

You didn't list the system's specs, what video card are you using and
have
you checked for current and/or (possibly) MCE specific drivers?

I have recently put in a new hard drive, windows XP media center
edition
2005, and a Hauppauge PVR-150 MCE. I have all the latest
decoders(Intervideo) and drivers for everything imaginable. I have
also
downloaded WinTV2000 and that works great but its features are as
nice as
Media Center and when I got to use media center livetv it doesnt
work. It
obviously recognizes a singal is there cuase it did setup signal but
when
i
press livetv it either shows a frozen screen, green screen, or just a
bunch
of scrambeled colors. I have tried everything and even though the
people
at
hauppauge reply to my emails they dont say anythign but drivers this
and
drivers that but that isnt helping me at all. What can I do. The
computer
is a HP and this is driving me crazy I went for the MCedition for a
reason
so I could use it.
