Re: Hauppauge PVR-150 MCE not workin with live tv

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

You really ought to be using a better video card.
That onboard graphics card that you have is not up to the task for Media
Center operations.

You need a card that will do DirectX9 in hardware...

An ATI Radeon 9500 or higher, or a Nvidia FX5200 or higher would do the
trick.

Just a couple of other thoughts, in case it's not an issue with the Haup
drivers.

Have you run the decoder checker to verify you have a MCE compatible
decoder
and it is set as the preferred?
If not, try this:

You didn't list the system's specs, what video card are you using and
have
you checked for current and/or (possibly) MCE specific drivers?

I have recently put in a new hard drive, windows XP media center edition
2005, and a Hauppauge PVR-150 MCE. I have all the latest
decoders(Intervideo) and drivers for everything imaginable. I have
also
downloaded WinTV2000 and that works great but its features are as nice
as
Media Center and when I got to use media center livetv it doesnt work.
It
obviously recognizes a singal is there cuase it did setup signal but
when
i
press livetv it either shows a frozen screen, green screen, or just a
bunch
of scrambeled colors. I have tried everything and even though the
people
at
hauppauge reply to my emails they dont say anythign but drivers this
and
drivers that but that isnt helping me at all. What can I do. The
computer
is a HP and this is driving me crazy I went for the MCedition for a
reason
so I could use it.
