Re: Xbox 360 Session Terminated

Hi Jenelle,

No it's not the 64bit version. I've tried running the installer straight
from net and also copying to hard drive, still the same result.

Is your Media Center a 64 bit OS? Are you installing straight from the
internet or coping the package local and launching?

The installer for MCE Diagnostics will not work for me. It ceases just
before
the end of installing with the following error:
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program run as
part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your personnel or
package vendor."

I have had the previous MCE Diag version installed and worked fine but I
uninstalled it a few months ago. Have I any other options ?

Stephen,
We will need to gather more data about your current PC config. Could
you
download the Windows XP Media Center Diagnostics Kit from
https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=CE06D6A7-DE56-4D82-BF5F-6F6E1296A934&displaylang=en,
capture a machine snapshot using the MCDiag tool, and send it to msft_mcx
at
hotmail? (and then tell me once you've done this)

Any solutions ?

Once I rebooted after the new driver settings I have more options on
the
advanced tab. I have changed the duplex settings from auto to 100mbps
full
duplex. I'm using an intel pro 100 ve. But it's still the same.
Also when I try to run the MCE Network Peformance Tuner I get an error
"application has generated an exception that could not be handled" The
application is the MCXNeTW.exe Common Language Runtime Debugging
Services.
Could this be a part of the problem ?

Do you have a second Ethernet card you could try putting in your PC

I've updated my ethernet network driver but still the same. I
don't
seem
to
have the option to view Link Speed & Duplex settings on it though.

Couple things to try:
- Update your PC's Ethernet card drivers to the latest version
available
from your PC OEM's website
- Change your Ethernet card to 100 mbps full duplex if it's set
to
Auto
Detect or vice versa:
.. 1) Right click My Computer, select Manage, click Device
Manager
.. 2) Expand Network adapters; double-click your network
card
.. 3) Select the Advanced tab
.. 4) Select Link Speed & Duplex; what is the Value? Try
changing
it to
100Mbps/Full Duplex

My Media Centre connects fine with my Xbox 360. It allows me

and even use Transcode 360. However once you stop the video
or
it
ends I
get
a session terminated error stating "Another user or
application
on
the
Windows Media Centre-based PC has disconnected this device."
I
am
also
getting network congestion errors but I'm not sure if they
are
related
to
this problem.
This problem has only been occuring since I installed the
latest
update
recently. Looking at my event logs these are the two errors
which
keep
popping up:
Unauthorized window was detect while running the Media
Center
Experience,
'ehshell.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services',
with
file
name ''.
Unauthorized window was detect while running the Media
Center
Experience,
'MCRMgr', with file name 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\dwwin.exe'.

What is going on and why is it now only happening after the
update ?
Thanks
