Great! My PC is almost a year old, but I was interested in if I would be
able to run Vista and at least use most of the advanced features. I will
give it a try.

The Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor beta
(http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/upgradeadvisor/default.mspx)
is a standalone program..
It will not install Windows Vista (that's a separate download..)

There is a program that checks the current PC to see if it is Vista
compatible and recommends the appropriate Vista options. I wanted to
check my PC to see if it is Vista compatible, but I do not want to
proceed with the install at this time.
Will I be allowed to stop the install or will I have to go ahead with it
once I start the checking process?
