Re: Is this RAM compatible with XP Media Center?

Any compatibility issues are with the motherboard and processor. I've never seen a case where OS compatibility was an issue (except for a user using too little, or even too much RAM). According to Corsair's configuration tool, it should be compatible with your motherboard. Try installing with just one of the two sticks. If it works, shutdown the computer and try the other one, by itself. If that works, put them both in at the same time, and try again.

Other than that, download a run a memory tester such as Memtest

I just built this and am installing Media Center (with problems). This is
the first time it has been used.

If its compatible with your computer and Windows XP Pro, then it will work with Media Center. Media Center is essentially XP Pro with the MCE bits added on.

Corsair XMS 2GB (1GB x 2) 184-pin DDR SDRAM

It's in an ASUS A8N-SLI Premium, and setup is giving me the error 0x000008E,
which is caused by RAM being defective or incompatible. I was having trouble
finding if it is, and I don't have much time to solve this problem. Does
anyone know? Thanks.
