Re: tv tuners not found

Do you have an MPEG2 decoder installed (via DVD playback software).

If you do not, you will get the errors you see (note that an MPEG2 decoder
is included in Vista)

You can find more info about that here
http://jtsang.blogspot.com/2006/05/media-center-mpeg2-decoders-now-and.html

Also, what video card and video card drivers are you using? That can cause
the same message to appear if they are not of the appropriate level...

i have hauppauge 500 (dual tv tuner) and happauge 150, both install (one at
a
time) with no issues, set up the tv in media center again no problems. try
to
watch tv live and my error comes up something to the effect of tv tuner
broken or bad drivers. i installed MCE on a second machine and again both
cards are recognized and drivers are installed. MCE lets me configure the
tv
in the set up, but still no tv. highly unlikely both cards are bad,
uninstalled/reinstalled drivers (the 150 comes with a set up utility as
well
that does not help) downloaded latest drivers from the web as well and
moved
the cards to both top PCI slot and bottom PCI slot. so two pc's each with
two
PCI slots tried, two cards, three sets of drivers. the only thing that is
constant is the one copy of MCE. how can verify it is not the problem as
all
is pointing that way? (all ms updates prior to installing cards) also
tried
vista beta 5384 as it also has MCE components and i get the same error.
what
should i be trying next?
