Media Center 2005 is XP Pro, with the Media Center bits added on. I suspect your problem comes from running a dual core processor. You might do some research and see if there are any special changes you need to make to have the problem programs run on a dual core processor.

Hi,.
This is my first time using MCE 2005. I got my copy from newegg with te
rollup. It has been pretty unstable and I don't know why.
first off, specs:
asus a8n-sli premium
amd x2 4400+ [copper hsf with pipes]
corsair 1gb (2x512)
soundblaster audigy 2
leadtek winfast 6600
250 gb WD caviar hdd
pioneer dvd
sony cd
----------
I have all the latest drivers for all components and such.
the problem is crashing when running programs, mainly:
warcraft 3
dreamfall the longest journey
aim
azureus
---------
all programs are up to date and i've noticed that the same errors keep
appearing in event viewer just prior to the crash:
for war3 its:
source COM+, category unknown, event id 4689;
The run-time environment has detected an inconsistency in its internal
state. This indicates a potential instability in the process that could be
caused by the custom components running in the COM+ application, the
components they make use of, or other factors. Error in
