When you went through the MCX connection/setup wizard and typed in the
8-digit code from the Xbox 360, did the wizard complete successfully?
Either way, please post the contents of your DvcSetup.log and DvcConn.log
files from c:\windows.
The Remote Desktop issue you cite is because Windows XP Media Center Edition
(and Windows XP Pro) support one concurrent desktop user (the MCX users
count against a separate total of 5 Media Center/MCX users).

I checked the event viewer and each log, Application, Security, System anda
Media Center.
Could it be a problem with Remote Desktop? I've noticed when I try to use
remote connection to the same computer. No one can be using thatcomputer,
whether I use my userid or Administrator.and
Thank you for the continued help!

aadobe reader installed. I don't see anything in the event viewer with

It sounds like an app that isn't authorized to run over a media

In the error log, see if there is mention of the app...

I've been having trouble getitng the xbox 360 to connect to my
applicationcenter pc.
I keep receiving an error messege saying "Another user or
Connect,on
the
Windows Media Center-based PC has disconnected this device."
I can see My Pictures and My Music through the Windows Media
similarbut
firewall, can't resolve my connection issue with the Media Center PC.
From reading through the posts here, I've disabled my windows
reviewed the Event Viewer logs for something with a time stamp
theto
the
attempted connection, updated my LAN driver and directly connected
samePC
and
the Xbox with an ethernet cable, bypassing my router, all with
noresult
and error messege.
I've also followed the the 6 or 7 step troubleshooting guide with
luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
Steve
