Re: tv tuner decoder problem

While the hardware and driver may be MCE compatible, the DVD Decoder may not be. There are several 3rd party decoders that are MCE certified.

The NVidia decoder is the one I've had the fewest problems with. There is a free trial period, so you can try before you buy.

I have problems with pinnacle tv tuner card 110i. It seems to be a decoder
problem. I checked on events everytime it collapses and it says "tv tuner
malfunction (0x80040265) Pinnacle PCTV 110i BDA Analog TV tuner".
As i was supposed to, I contacted Pinnacle. After several tryings to avoid
my questions they hanged up on me....rude.... The fact is the decoders that
come with the MCE2005 drivers dont work on MCE at the least in my computer
and the MS decoder checkup utility says theyre not compatible.
The thing is i cant install the driver without those files getting installed
.According to Pinnacle (not good source) theres no warranty the TV tuner can
work with third party decoders yet theirs dont work either. What makes me mad
is that it says on the box the card is designed for MCE2005 as on the
webpage and that was my big and only reason why i got the card (I already had
one not workin on MCE).
Any ideas how can i make my tv tuner card work without my blood presure
going to the clouds?? Id appreciate it tons!!.This has been a bigger deal
than making my sound card work on Linux in 1996 LOL.
