Re: "Invalid Connection Data" Message XBOX 360 acting as an MCE

Couple questions:
- Do you have any third-party firewall, intrusion detection, anti-virus,
privacy guard, or parental control software installed on your PC?
- Have you tried all of the steps outlined the following kb article?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911739

If you answer is no to the first question and yes to the second question,
please do the following:
1) Launch regedit (Start --> Run --> "regedit" <enter>)
2) Navigate to HKEY_Local_Machine/Software/Microsoft/MediaCenterPeripheral
3) Right click DeviceTable, select Export
4) In the File name field, type "DeviceTable.txt", including the quote marks
(i.e. DeviceTable.txt with double quotes before and after it) and save the
file to anyplace of your choosing
5) Open DeviceTable.txt in notepad, copy the contents, and paste them into a
newsgroup post

I have a Sony VAIO PC Runing XP MCE 2005 SP2 Roullup 2 hard wired to a
Linksys WRT55AG router, XBOX360 using Wireless A sitting 5 feet from the
router. Media Connect works fine but I want to use the XBOX as a Media
Center Extender. When I try to get them to to connect I get the dreaded
"Invalid Connection Data" message on the XBOX.

I have read all the threads and tried all the fixes in the threads and
have
spent hours on call with 800-myxbox without any luck. Although, one of
the
fixes (the deletion of a registry entry) got me out of a perpetual loop
when
I try to make the connection.

In another thread Microsoft was able to read a packet capture and tell
the
person what they found and what could be done to fix the problem. I
have a
capture, how do I get it read?

Thanks,

Bill
