That seemed to do it Gary. Thanks for the help. I can't believe that
Gateway would market a product that has a major flaw such as this. What
would a neophyte do if one didn't know where to get help from people such
as
you.
Thanks again,
Rich

You need to get the updated AMD CPU driver from AMD. Until you install
that, all recordings will likely exprience weird occurances like what you
are seeing.
The update is available here

All your previous recordings will continue to exhibit the issue you are
seeing, however, all your new recordings after the installation of the
new
cpu driver should not exhibit this issue.

I have a brand new Gateway computer running Windows XP Media Center
edition.
When I attempt to record a program it works fine at the beginning of
the
recording but after about a half hour the video starts to pulse. These
pulses
keep getting longer and longer until it almost stops. This makes it
very
difficult to watch a program I am recording. What I get is a series of
still
pictures with bursts of sound. What is the problem. This competer is
running an Athalon X2 with 2 GB of Ram and 240 GB of free harddrive
space.
Thanks for any help
.
