If you look at your Xbox 360 under Windows Media Connect, does it still say
"Cannot play protected Windows Media files"?
Also, do you have any non-TV protected content you could try playing? (e.g.
music tracks purchased from Napster or MSN Music)
If not, please try the following to confirm whether this is specific to TV
or a general issue with protected content:
1) Open Windows Media Player and go to Tools --> Options
2) Select the Rip Music tab and check the "Copy protect music" box; click OK
3) Rip 1 track off of a CD; this track will be protected
4) Play the track you ripped in step 3 on your MCX; what happens?
Note: you may want to undo step 2 when you're done...

I tried the #2 suggestion in the following link :

After installing the April 2006 Update Rollup I rebooted.. Then I
deinstalled Media Center Extender and Media Center Connect from the MCE
through Control Panel. Then I rebooted MCE again. I went to the 360 and
disconneted from Windows Media Center and Windows-based PC setting, and
the 360 MCE installation including new key code. etc.Extender,
This procedure added a few premium channels that play now thru the
but not all of them do. There is still a problem with over half of them, same
message about protected content not able to play thru the 360, but playsfind
on the MCE itself... Sorry for the false report!!the

worked for me. I installed it, rebooted, then uninstalled the Center
Extender and Media Center Connect... Disconnected my MCE computer from
fresh360 profiles for Media Center and Computer and basically reinstalled
hotfixfrom the 360 perpective..
Now I am able to watch premium content thru the 360 extender just fine.
