Software to compress DVD and save to hard disk...and...

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I'm considering ripping the movies that we watch most often to our hard
drive. There was some software that I used previously but I can't remember
what it was.

Basically, what I'd like to do is -

Must have:
- Compress the content to save hard drive space
- Ability to keep the menu system from the DVD

Nice to have:
- MCE interface
- Ability to remove languages, features, etc. from the hard drive copy
- Have the option to automatically start the copy process when a DVD is
inserted, similar to how WMP can rip CD's automatically when inserted.

Suggestions?
