can you check and see if remote desktop is enabled (right click my
computer, properties, remote - then make sure remote desktop is
enabled --
are you using VPN software?

Hi - thanks for the help so far. Still a problem after trying again just a--
bit ago. And the support group is no help 8004MYXBOX - sorry.
Some more info to my previous post (and where I think the rub could be). I
only use Windows Firewall, I have opened all ports, I have checked router
settings, I have checked for router firmware updates (as a side the LInksys
a/g router I bought had an XBOX360 sticker on it!). I do have the ,net 1.1
update and no 2.0. I do have MCE rollup 2, etc. I show the connection to
the wireless network when I test mdeia (expect of course it fails on
'Computer test'. I can connect to Xbox Live, etc. Basically what I wanted to
say hwere is all of the obvious stuff that would be in the things I have read
are checked and okay.
Okay, it seems the rub may be with the Media center Extender Software. I
have now tried multiple times to install. Every time it seems it is almost
done - I get this becuase my TV goes from the xbox screen to a the Media
Center looking screen (black with the logo etc) and says Connecting. As soon
as that happens, on my PC the MC Extender software says "there was a problem
with setup, please try again, and if continues contact your PC manufacture".
The odd thing is, that the program does seem to however be completed, as I
can open the application, It shows Xbox as a device (I have to change it to
allow). I add shared folders and it seems to all be fine. But of course I
then go back to the Xbox (which has to be rebooted becuase it is still
locked on the Media Center screen where it was when the Extender software
blew out), reboot and try the Media Center button and I get the same old "Can
not Find Computer".
I have attached the event log errors. I did not have any recent in the
security log. I hope this is how I was suppose to do it and how it was
suppose to be posted in this forum (sorry if not).
Greatly appreciate any help - this is more than frustrating. I have
everything that should allow this to work, must be something?

i don't have the Xbox 360 wireless adapter or the Linksys A/G routerissues.
BUT - when you say you checked the router and everything was set up
properly, can you verify that the SSID name for A and G are different
and that you are NOT hiding the SSIDs?
have you installed all the updates for MCE 2005 including Update
Rollup 2 and all the subsequent fixes?
What do the logs and event viewer on the PC show?
