Thanks again for the reply Gino. Where do I check to see if Scripts
are blocked. I've only had XP for a week now and am still getting
acquainted. I figure it's something in my PC since I was able to
successfully download the CSV file on my son's pc.
Thanks
Nancy

You can't download it? I read your post carelessly, I see...
I saw that you had trouble opening the file, and misinterpreted that it
was downloaded already, and the problem was on your computer. I apologize
for that.
IIRC, 'asp' is a kind of scripting language; perhaps when you click on the
link you need to say 'run' instead of download. Also check to see if your
browser is set to block scripts.
BTW, I have similar problems with certain sites in my usual browser, which
is Firefox, and I have to switch to Internet Explorer to download
successfully at those sites.
I hope I interpreted this correctly now! However, I *am* a bit out of my
depth...

Thanks Gino.........but..........if I can download it on my son's
laptop which has Win XP (older version) why am I have trouble
on my Media Ed 2005 ? The bank says it's not their fault, like
so many help desks. They all seem to blame it on the OS until
you can prove it's not the OS>
Thanks!

Have a new Dell Inspirion laptop with dual core processor using
Windows XP Media Edition 2005. 1gb Mem and 100 gb HD.
I previously was able to download and account file (CSV format) to
my old Win98SE PC with no problem. I tried to do it using my new
Win XP Media 2005 PC and it won't do it. It does not come up with
the window which asks me where I want to save it, although if
I tried to download the same file in Quicken or Money, it worked as
it always used to. I also was able to download it successfully with
my son's laptop which has Win XP on it.
When I click on "download" it says, "transferring file:
"https:/www.xxxxonlinebanking.org/account/historydownload.asp"
and then it appears as a txt file on a web page. The I close it and
get the error report
"missing file: https:/www.xxxxonlinebanking.org/xxxxxxxstyle.css"
(The xxx's are to protect the actual name of the bank.)
Is this something with my Win XP or the bank's program.
Thanks in advance for the help !
The css (cascading style ***) file is the key used to decode the
file's format. It's part of the bank's software, but I have no idea how
to reclaim it.
Call the bank or post on their newsgroup :-)
