There's your problem.
Update the AMD cpu driver asap. Make sure it is successfully installed.

Hey Guys, thanks for the interest. I'll try to fill in the blanks for all
the questions.
JW -
Yes I am running RU2 along with the update. I keep the updates coming by
letting uSoft automatically update my systems.
My disc is a 300gb SATA I drive partitioned to 50/250 GB.
Yes the audio stutters too. It is actually more annoying than the
picture.
As far the different equipment on different shows is concerned, the
starting
of stuttering about 1/3 of the way through the show contra-indicates that
diagnosis.
The CPU usage during playback is in the 20-40% range depending on whether
I'm viewing it on the system that recorded it (AMD 3200+) or on the system
in
my office (AMD x2 3800+). I don't think the CPU is the problem.
Both systems are using NVidia decoders (latest version ...195) and
Catalyst
6.2 drivers on Gigabyte 9550 cards. The decoder is set to Smart Mode -
Hardware Accelleration, VMR Default De-interlaceMode with Prefer Overlay.
I
have tried the different modes in the past with no effect.
Jason
The main system (the one that recorded the show) has an AMD 3200+ (not
x2),
1gb memory, an ATI HDTV Wonder and a Gigabyte 9550 graphics card.
My other system does not have a tuner card but runs MCE. I can view
recorded TV by designating the folder as one of my Video folders. This
system has a 3800+ x2 chip, 2gb, 2x160gb SATA I drives and the same video
card.
Pete
The Video card handles almost everything I throw at it including the first
third of the show that caused the problem. All I ever watch is HDTV and
DVD's, so I don't think the card is the problem. Also, the same
stuttering
happens in WMP which uses different loading factors than MCE.
As far as the disc is concerned, the fact that it usually works fine -
and -
it doesn't get any worse if I watch the corrupted files on another machine
over a wired ethernet.
Which mpeg decoder do you recommend ?
Thanks for the feedback,
Mike
