Ok this is very interesting... on the MCE PC, I goto a trailer as you
suggested and I get audio but no video whatsoever. I checked the same
trailer from the x360 and it failed as well. The exact error displayed
onscreen:
Missing Component
A required media center component is missing. Please contact your
hardware manufacturer for assistance.
I downloaded DECCheck (Win XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility) and it
confirmed that I have an MCE/MP10 compatible MPEG-2 decoder installed.
I didn't find an entry for MPEG-1, is that the issue? If so, why would
my Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 150 or Cyberlink PowerDVD 6, not install one?

If you go to Movielink under Online Spotlight and attempt to play a movie
trailer, do you see the same error? If so, what is the full text of the
error you see? Also, do you have any MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 file content you
could try playing to see if they are impacted as well? Finally, do the
videos you have issues with play fine directly on the Media Center PC?
