Hi Jamie,
I have run the file at the link you supplied and the program is happy
with the decodfer that is installed.
The media centre pc ruins fine on my pc monitor and functions correctly it
is only when I attach it to my tv that I am not getting any picture only
sound.
If I leave the monitor attached and configure the graphics card to clone I
still get a display on the monitor but still none on the TV.
Cheers

Chris,.
When the TV is captured (or a DVD is made), it is encoded in MPEG format,
the decoder is the software that is necessary revese this so it can be
displayed. It is needed for both DVDs and Live/Recorded TV. Run this
utility; it will show if you have a MCE compatible and preferred decoder
installed.

Hi Jaime,
Thanks for the reply.
I am not sure exactly what you mean by DVD decoder but I have powerdvd
installed. I think it is version 6
Also I downloaded the latest nvidia drivers for media centre from the
nividia website and they have been installed on the machine.
Regards.

What DVD decoder (and version) is installed in the system?
Is the video card up to day with MCE specific drivers?

When I connect my media centre pc to my tv using a s-video to scart
cable
I
get sound and no picture.
I have a nvidia 6200 graphics card with a SVideo TV out connection and
my
TV
is a sony 32" crt.
I have checked the settings on the graphics card and it is configured
for
i/pal which is the correct setting for the UK.
Does anyone have any tips on how to resolve this issue.
Cheers.
