A Frustrated Dad

Just bought a Dimension from Dell pre-installed w/ XP Media Center
Edition 2002 w SP2.
Don't know why 2002 not 2004/5, but I don't mind as long as it works.
I set myself up as Admin, part of Administrator group. Then set up my
kids as part of Users. Here comes the problem,
- except MS own Office for XP
- none of other programs I installed for them run, especially games.
- they are not legacy games. I, of course can run them, but all
shortcuts I gave them in their menu folders complaint about permission
or can not find programs.
Myself is an IT pro, so I think it's easy that just grant them the R
and execute permission to the folders. When I r-click on the folders
contain the game program files, I can't find the usual <Security> tab
under XP Pro. The only Security and Sharing tell me to move them to
Shared Documents folder. Ok, I removed the game, re-installed to this
Shared Document folder, still bad.
Went into User Account under Control Panel, found only Administrator
and Limited, two types. No option to create different types of user.
Opened up Help, seems like Power User is good, but where to get it?
If this is an edition for home users, it's a shameful bad design.
Am I forced to upgrade it to XP Pro or something else, or there is a
easy and simple solution for it?
