If the recorded shows were fine and even if you do have a X2 Dual core CPU
you don't need new drivers from AMD.
Did you get the system with both tuners configured?
Check to see that one of your tuner cards is not sharing its IRQ with either
your graphics card or your sound card.

It doesn't seem to be a problem playing recorded TV or DVDs. My kids and

watched a Star Wars marathon of three DVDs - Episodes I, II and III and
the
CPU was around 12% when we were done.

When my wife and I caught up on two weeks worth of Daily Shows, it didn't
peg the CPU at 100%.

I'll download the driver from AMD and see if that fixes it. The chip is
an
AMD Anthlon 64 3200

This problem has been plaguing me ever since I got my MCE PC six months
ago.

I have an HP m7100e with an AMD 64 and two Hauppage WinTV PVR PCI II
(23xxx)
tuners. When MCE is set to "Live Television" for more than two hours,
the
processor is pegged at 100% and does not go back down unless I reboot.

When I go into task manager and look at processes, the "system" process
is
using all the CPU.

I've tested this with not using the tuner, disabling the second tuner
(Which
I'm not using since I don't have a second cable box yet). Switching
tuners
and trying different video display modes. The problem is pretty
consistent.
I've tried uinstalling everything, rebuiding from scratch, rebuilding
using
the HP reinstallation CDs as well as updating every driver on the
system,
but
the problem remains that when I leave the MCE PC on "live TV" for more
than
two hours, the processor is pegged. It doesn't completely jam the
system,
but it is exceptionally slow.

Either the Hauppage drivers have a memory leak or there's something
else
going on here, such as a conflict with the AMD chipset and the tuners.
I
honestly don't know. I bought this system as a new system that HP
sells
and
I didn't add any other hardware. Their phone support has been not very
helpful in troubleshooting this.

I'm hoping that someone here has seen this problem before and can help.
