You'd need to do a clean install. You can't 'upgrade' to windows xp pro.
Windows XP MCE is not XP Home.

I'm having a hard time getting an answer to what I thought was a very easy
question - Can XP Media Edition be upgraded to XP Pro?
If it's considered to be the same OS as XP Home, then I guess the answer
is
yes. Is there no difference in this regard between Home and Media
Editions?
A friend of mine is having trouble upgrading to Pro, so I assume it's
because the existing OS is Media Edition. Am I correct? We're using the
same OS media and license key (volume license) that we have used to
upgrade
other XP Home machines.
Thanks
.
