This is probably more of a question for a general Windows XP newsgroup
rather than this one that is specific to Windows Media Center.
The bar being locked or unlocked doesn't prevent you from adding shortcuts
to the Quick Launch toolbar (although locking does prevent it from
resizing). Are you sure the Quick Launch toolbar is showing and not some
other toolbar? Have you tried to Right-Click drag and choosen "Create
Shortcut"?

I can't seem to drag and drop the programs I want onto the task bar next to
the start button. The task bar is unlocked and I see the vertical bar, but
I'm not able to move the vertical bar. Any suggestions?
