To add to the last post, the 360 responded to the connection wizard with
"Invalid Connection Data".

Over the usual home network the 360 is 192.168.1.22 and the PC is 192.168.1.72..
I connected the Xbox and the PC directly via ethernet and they conneceted,
but the xbox came up with "session terminated" saying the connection had been
reset by a user or application on the MCE PC before it finished the
connection stuff when I hadn't touched anything.
After that I removed the connection from MCE's Extender Manager and from the
360 and returned the 360 to its usual home in the living room. Tried
connecting to it again with the same circumstances (Wired 360, Wireless MCE,
No AV or Firewalls) and it couldn't find the 360 again.
DvcConn as follows:

11:38:23 PM : Matching device not found: Entering 15 second wait.

What are the IP addresses of the Xbox 360 and of the Media Center PC?
Also, it would be helpful if you could temporarily connect your PC to your
router via an Ethernet cable in order to eliminate the wireless side of
things (or better yet, directly connect your PC to your Xbox 360 using an
Ethernet cable with no router involved). I have seen one report of this
type of behavior that a user encountered when using a wireless adapter on
their PC that did not carry the Designed for Windows XP Media Center Edition
logo...

Cable modem to router. The 360 is wired to the router (have triedmultiple
ports) and the PC is connected to the router via SuperG wireless. Bothhave
full access to the internet. I had Norton AV 2006 installed (when I mademy
first post), and I had read that removing it may help so I did. However, magically
that lead to the second post.
