I use Powerstrip to output 1024*576 to my JVC 32" 100Hz widescreen TV

Last summer the JVC went in for repair and I connected to a 21" 4:3
Toshiba and had to change my Powerstrip settings. I'm pretty sure I
used the settings from this site....
http://ryoandr.free.fr/english.html
which were....
720x576=720,42,72,134,576,3,28,18,15125,41
and from memory the resolution was perfect once again and the only
hint of flicker was from the 50Hz display rather than a computer
induced interlacing issue.
I don't recall any problems with the desktop display or the MCE
interface or recorded TV and videos in terms of resolution or scaling.
The only issue appears to be an interlacing problem causing slight
flicker only when watching TV/video on the 32" screen.
What did you choose in MCE when configuring the screen? CRT, LCD,
Projector or what? What about cabling? S-video, VGA or what? Just to
narrow in what I could have done wrong.
I'm not sure that helps unless there is something in the settings
above that differ from your own. You should be able to copy and paste
this bit....
720,42,72,134,576,3,28,18,15125,41
Aren't there supposed to be more numbers? Something like Linux
settings etc. I'll try it, when I get home.
straight into Powerstrip and hopefully that will get you fixed up. Of
course a display resolution of 720*576 is next to useless for most
computing tasks but should be fine for MCE.
Exactly. This machine has been built for MCE (or possibly another HTPC
system) so I don't really care how Windows look.
