Odd...I have no problems with my FireWire ports on Media Center. Then again
I have a different camcorder. It could be that the camcorder's firmware
isn't up to spec. I vaguely remember hearing that some MCE update tweaked
the FireWire settings to bring them "up to spec" but that knocked out older
camcorders that were not implementing the spec correctly. Not sure what to
do in that case...
I know that in Device Manager you can tell the USB ports to "scan for new
hardware" - it may be that a FireWire port has the same option (right-click
on the port in Device Manager).
