Re: MCE 2005 Xbox 360 Extender PC Setup Cannot find Xbox 360 on Ne

Hi Jason,

OK I decided to do the following:

1) Delete the Xbox 360 from the DevicesTable in the registry (so I can
ascertain as and when it gets discovered again).

2) Unistall all 5 Network Services from Add/Remove Windows Components (as I
don't see why they need to be installed anyway).

I did that which forced a reboot. Upon reloading Windows I went back into
the registry and the Xbox 360 had been rediscovered and was back in the
DeviceTable.

I re-ran the Setup program (I've started doing this through Media Center
Extender Manager as it runs the same program, but without all the installing
of stuff that's already there, plus I've also tried doing the full setup
version which gives me the same results). An the setup says 'Verifying Setup
Key' then says "Setup is unable to contact Xbox 360.".

I will try a wired connection from xbox to router again. And give it another
go. If that doesn't work I guess I'll have to uninstall F-Secure (and loose
all my firewall application settings). :-(

If you think of anything else, plz post.

Thaks, Chris.
