Re: Media Center Extender gives error code 2003



This behavior is consistent with something blocking some of the necessary
network traffic (odd given that you said you disabled your firewall). The
fact that you see this with a cross-over cable eliminates your router/switch
as a possible culprit. Can you provide more information regarding the
firewall/intrusion detection/anti-virus/privacy software installed on your
PC, including what state it is in? In some cases, firewalls will still
block traffic even when set to disabled, so it would help isolate the issue
if you temporarily uninstalled any third-party firewall software and enabled
the Windows Firewall instead.
