Gary (and Jason),
Thanks much for your help. I downloaded the AMD fix and it still didn't fix
my recorded video problem. However, after installing the AMD CPU fix, all
recorded and live TV from that point on did non exhibit the problem, but
previously recorded video did (go figure) .
Ulitmaetly, I think the fix to my problem was in David Fliechman's blog at:
http://blogs.msdn.com/david_fleischman/archive/2005/12/01/499046.aspx
It did not fix problems with video recorded PRIOR to installing the patch.
Again, this AMD patch did not fix problems with previously recorded video
(which I've deleted) but I've been running without a glitch with new
recorded and live TV for about 6 hours (longer than ever before) and I am[d]
very happy.
Perhaps one of you (Gary or Jason) would care to do a new new post with an
appropriate subject or message regarding "video and audio stops" or "video
and audio glitch" or something of that nature regarding the use of dual core
AMD processors that I'm sure others will having regarding this problem.
Considering David F's blog was posted on Dec 1, 2005 I'm sure that AMD dual
cores are just now becoming "bleeding edge" and I'm am sure this isn't going
to be the last time this is seen on this newsgroup.
Thanks for your help. Sometimes all it takes is someone to tell you not to
give up hope because there [usually] is a solution to all problems.
