Doug:
You're kidding right?
If I buy a DVD from a video store I can play it on any DVD machine I want
to. Nothing in the license restricts me from doing so. Nothing in any license
I have says that I can only play the music content or DVD on a particular
machine.
Furthermore, public broadcasts even of premium channels are not restricted
in terms of which TV in the house you can watch them on. My cable TV
subcsription does not prevent me from doing so.
The DRM system renders MCE viturally useless as a media content storage
device. This is because Microsoft can arbitraily decide to invalidate your
licenses -- even for doing something as innocuous as changing a bit in the
BIOS or in my case appearently taking advantage of Microsoft's own networking
features.
Who the hell gave Microsoft the right to confiscate my (or anyone else's)
property?
