Re: Dual HDTV Tuners not working correctly

Unfortunately I'm pretty much an idiot when it comes to understanding how
tuners work behind the scenes or how Media Center handles them. What
surprises me is how eshell.exe and ehrecvr will max out the cpu regardless
of what tuner I hook into when the A180 is installed in the machine. I'm not
sure why these processes would go through the roof if the card wasn't being
used.(i.e watching a live show on the NVTV tuner) I thought it might be a
interupt problem so I moved cards around as well as manually set IRQ's for
the different PCI slots. That didn't fix the problem. While I'm happy that I
was able to make the setup work in my other machine, I still would like to
figure it out because this current configuration isn't what I'm looking for.
I too found it rather odd that there is a noticeable difference between a
show that is recorded on the ATI compared to the exact same show recorded on
the Avermedia. Maybe I'm just crazy but the picture appears to be alot more
grainy looking and not as sharp. Its still a very good picture, so I'm not
complaining :) Its just nice being able to record multiple HD shows at the
same time on a single machine!! I'm using the exact same video cards in
both machines (MSI 6600GT's with nvidias 77.79 driver) as well as decoders
(Nvidia 1.02.185)
I dont suppose you know if someone has created a plugin for media center
that will allow you to attach to another media centers guide to view and or
schedule recordings on it?
Thanks again for your insight!
