here's the link for nvidia preferred bios settings (i'm assuming you know
how to get into the bios: hit del when booting. page through settings and
look for the ones that match the preferred settings: if not there, ignore)
long link lol.also, if you're using nvtweak or coolbits, open card
properties (rclick desktop,properties,settings, advanced,vidcard) and
uncheck "fast writes" under "agp settings". if you're not using one of
these OC progs, this setting may not be available

one thing i've found, having MCE lock up on me and then spending 3 days at
a time looking for problems, is having installed latest DIVX and XVID
codecs. take 'em out. use media player 10 to open vid files, and it will
automatically search for proper codec, download it an then there seems to
be np with MCE. if you get a file that says it HAS to have DIVX or XVID,
use an older one. (freecodecs.com, i think it's called).
