Thanks for the info "Turbo [GEEK].
I went into "Computer Managment" and ran through your check list each time
after two reboots just to make sure that the settings remained. Some of the
properties we're set to "manual" and one, the "RPC" setting, needed to be
started and set to "automatic". So I was hopeful that this could be the
problem. However when I open My Network Places" well......much to my
disdain.....same problem :( . Still only one stupid icon appears. The MCE
PC's own. One note though if it is any help. While the "Net Logon" function
does set to "automatic", it will not start. I get a Windows message that
suggest when a function like this it has nothing to do it will shutdown
automatically.
Again thanks for all the help on this issue so far people. Believe me it's
much appreciated. But this just appears to be one of those stubborn-ass
networking problems I guess that may never get resolved I realize now unless
maybe I try an entirely different protocol such as "NetBEUI" as has been
suggested by "HillBillyBuddist". As soon as I figure out how to install and
switch to such a protocol.
