Is this a commercial DVD and set for the right region?
Does it possibly have an option for the dialog in different languages (or
none at all)?
Are you using surround sound?
It's almost like the center channel isn't there, but I'm not sure if all
dialog comes from that channel, it would seem that you should get something
from the other channels.
What decoder are you using? You might try downloading and trying a different
one.
Just a couple of thoughts.
