Ideally, your router would be blocking Ping packets, so those wouldn't be waking up the computer. However, it could be the Wake-On-LAN setting in the BIOS that's causing it, since the NIC and the router will be talking to each other. I don't put my systems in standby, so I can't tell you what effect this would have on getting the Guide updates. Either the MCE machine will wake up to download them, or it will download the updated information as soon as you bring it out of standby.
