Re: "WinAntiSpyware 2005" is trying to take over.

I have run spybot, xoftspy and spysubtract. I believe I took care of anything
and everything they found (Noton AV constantly updated set on auto but I
manually run live update at least daily). I got a Verizon toolbar I didn't
ask for about a week ago- I followed directions... then called Verizon tech
support...the Magic toolbar is not installed as software. One of the "bots"
caught it, I deleted it- it's still there. (it did not replace the other
toolbar, it just got added.) Verizon said call HP.
Spysubtract found 5 "instances" of "trojan.Vundo" I DL'd the fix from
Symantec , ran it, it could not find Vundo on this machine to fix.
Spysubtract (Sept 20, 2005) also
in registry found :( I copied and pasted directly from the scan results)
Found '' in 'SOFTWARE\Classes\MSEvents.MSEvents\CurVer'
Found '' in 'SOFTWARE\Classes\MSEvents.MSEvents\CLSID'
Found '' in 'SOFTWARE\Classes\MSEvents.MSEvents.1\CLSID'
Found '' in 'SOFTWARE\Classes\MSEvents.MSEvents.1'
Found '' in 'SOFTWARE\Classes\MSEvents.MSEvents'

I have no idea what to do about that (above) but every time I boot up ( and
of course I hate to do that cuz i have to power on / off with the button
several times) I get the "system configuration utility" window...That's left
from the last HP "technician". I just try to never shut down.
I thank you all and am not getting notices when you post (sorry) although I
did ask for them so I'll keep checking back.
