Re: Decoder Error

While running MCE go to task manager and right clck on the process and
select Set Affinity and select CPU 0.
A dual core system can actually execute an instruction in both cores
simultaniously wheras an HT processer can not . That is why an HT
processors only geta about 80% of the total performance that would be
available with an equivalent dual core or dual CPU system.
With the AMD systems the situation was
1. With both CPUs enabled both live and recoreded TV had problems.
2. If a program was recored with both CPUs enabled playback had problems
with either one or two CPUs enabled.
3. With one CPU enabled no problems occured with either Live or Recorded TV.
4. If a program was recorded with one CPU enabled there was no probelm
playing it back with either one or two CPUs enabled.

Conclusion with two CPUs enabled a recording had corrupt encoded data of
some kind

With bothe CPUs enabled and the MCE RCVR process running on only one CPU by
setting its affinity to only on CPU there were no problems with one or two
CPUs enabled.

The problem only occured with NTSC tuner recordings since HD recordings are
allready encoded when received.
