Hi Dana,
Thanks for reply, particularly for setting me straight on the dual tuner
stuff. Still seeking more info on video conversion for smartphone and PPC.

For some reason after install the intel sound management app had sound
configured to be off. All sound had been coming out on behalf of "CD Drive"
(appearing in volumne control). Once I turned that sound on and muted the "CD
Drive" from volume control everything worked fine.

As for dual tuner, I am finding it to be of dubious value since it does not
provide me PIP. Granted it does provide ability to record while viewing live
tv but I get that level of functionality if I just channel one sat. receiver
thru MCE and the other directly to TV. That solution runs up against the
"ubiquitous remote" problem but at least I get my PIP (I want it all).

Haven't had time to investigate but I thing WMP 10 has all the conversion
smarts. I remember reading that it will sync devices with video just like it
will MP3s. I will try this. Underlying encoding technology is probably the
same as encoding approach you mentioned but maybe the got the kinks out with
WMP 10 implementation.
