NVIDIA PureVideo Performance, CPU usage goes UP

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

I read where the PureVideo was supposed to reduce the performance on your
CPU. I did some quick tests of watching live tv, recorded tv, live HD, and
recorded HD. Then I installed the latest drivers from NVIDIA 72.14 I believe
and the latest NVIDIA PureVideo decoder. I really can't say much about the
picture as I didn't look at it closely before the upgrade, and afterwards the
picture looks fine. But what I do notice is my CPU usage has now gone up
slightly for the 4 operations I was testing. I thought it would go down as
the decoder would off load some of the performance to the GPU. I'm already
pushing 70% CPU for watching HDTV and that is kinda high for my preference
and I'm not completely ready for a new CPU just yet.

Has anyone else experienced this?
