It's not really a Samsung, Sony or Microsoft MCE issue. It's a were
all not compatible becasuse we are all based on different standards
issue. TVs and PCs don't really like each other. Also, I did not see
a VGA input on your TV. So I'm not sure exacly how your connecting. I
suspect you are connecting VGA to DVI.
Some Guru could probably help you get to 1:1 addressing with a bunch of
tools. I'm going to give you the easy solution.
Connect the TV to the PC via DVI/DVI or Get ATIs Component Video
Breakout box (Check to make sure your card is capable). Then go into
the ATI MCE catalyst driver and tell it this is a TV. It will then
present a limited set of choices. Feed the TV a TV signal like 720p.
The TV will know what to do with this signal as it will understand it
is a wide screen format. The PC will also know what to do.
MCE uses a different display mechanism than the windows desktop which
is why you are having issues. The TV is better at handling this type
of signal.
One potential gotcha here is that the x300 doesn't really have the
memory bandwidth to do HDTV well.
One last issue. As your TV is limited to addressable pixels of 1024 x
768, expect the normal desktop to look somewhat poor. This is the same
resolution meant for a 17 inch monitor.
Hope this helps.
