As long as the DVI resolution you are outputting is one that is listed in
your TV's user manual as one it will accept over HDMI you should not have a
problem since the TV has no idea where the DVI signal is coming from a PC or
digital STB or a DVD player. The statement in many TV manuals that they
don't support PCs AFAIK has always meant that they don't accept many normal
PC resolutions over DVI like the DVI interface on a PC monitor does.
Normally a HDMI or DVI receiver on a HDTV accepts only 480i, 480p, 720p or
1080i or some subset of these resolutions since these are the ones available
from STBs and DVD players.
